It took me 10 minutes to cook scrambled eggs, chop up some leeks and add some sunflower seeds. The girls scoffed the lot in one minute! Really couldn’t you all just take a bit of a breath between pecks!

You feed your chickens scrambled eggs?

Yep. Good for them as high in protein to help support the tiring job of egg laying. Must cook them though or they end up breaking the eggs to eat.

How interesting. I had no idea. You don’t get more environmentally friendly than that 🙂

They also have the egg shells crushed to help them chew their food held in their crop. I love my eggers.

I’ve always heard of feeding them eggs but have never had the guts…that being said, the gals are in full production mode so maybe I’ll try this spring. They can be picky 😜

They will love them. I also add herbs, chopped tomato and meal worms. Just make sure all cooked well. Mine are getting used to some new treats. I want to make sure they can enjoy lots of our autumn veg once it’s harvest time. Not sure about carrots.

They love treat time. So much pecking it sounds like a troup of tap dancers on speed!
