It’s been great fun designing our sets of note books, A6 with illustrations for the local craft boutique in Aubusson, here in Creuse. Aubusson is home to the famous tapestry museum and weaving factory and I feel very lucky to be able to share my own designs in the town.

Now it’s autumn, I’ve designed a set of fish and autumn forest covers, including a hare, boar, stag, and pheasant.  The French do hunt here, and although I can’t agree with it, I do see these wonderful animals on my farmland. We have a herd of fallow deer that seek refuge on our fields and we often see hares, foxes, and pheasants too.  The fish include the ever popular carp and mirror carp. I am currently working on a book about freshwater fish and looking at fable and folklore to illustrate these.

We found a beautiful book case at a brocante this week and it stores our notebooks perfectly. My husband prints these for me, including all the pages within and has his own range too…Bearing. His notebooks come in four styles, plain, lined, dotted and squared.
