I published my first book!

I met a wonderful poet, Kate Rose and over this year we decided to collaborate to produce an anthology of 33 Sea and Estuary birds. It was a fun and educational project, involving reading field guides, watching numerous videos and learning about their habitat and hunting behaviour.

I used AI, photoshop with my inspiration from our local town of Aubusson, famous for its tapestries, to pull together a wide variety of compositions. I continue to illustrate with traditional mediums but I wanted to embrace new technology for this project.

There are well known birds here…the puffin and blue footed booby, the kingfisher and albatross, but also lesser known, the merganser and marbled ducks.

The illustrations took me many hours over a three month period and required a lot of editing. AI is a good base, but it does have inaccuracies.
