Beep, beep,bok, bok

I have two passions, well two of many that bring me joy. Citroen 2CVs and poultry. Funnily the 2CV was made for farmers and the requirement was for a cheap car, efficient, simple and affordable and to be able to bump along farmers fields or lanes without breaking a dozen eggs.

Having owned my lovely Amelie, shown here; I can tell you they roll, they have the springing that means you carry those dozen eggs and not spill your mug of tea.

I sadly have no Amelie now nor poultry but now I pour my enthusiasm into making large picnic bags and totes. Another passion is fabric. I used to visit John Lewis in Oxford Street, being a Londoner, and between finger and thumb tested fabrics for weight and texture. You learn a lot by touch. And colour….mixing braids, with patterns, stripes, upcycled teacloths, napkins and curtains.  I love traditional folk style for my poultry and try to find original 1970’s fabrics for the 2CV bags.

The bags are nade from hard-wearing jute and canvas cotton.  The additional decoration and fabrics are handsewn and I use retro buttons sourced from sewing fairs and brocantes.  Lots of fabrics are donated to me and I love being able to use them rather than passing them into landfill.

I am going to grow this bag business and will be putting them online to sell throughout Europe. I also have some new designs that I shall post shortly, based on my Dutch connections.

I am having bags of fun! ❤
